The dial of the fire extinguisher pressure gauge is divided into three color areas. The pointers of the pressure gauge in different color areas have different meanings. The first area is red, the second area is green, and the third area is yellow. Below we explain the meaning of the fire extinguisher pressure gauge pointer in different areas.
If the internal pressure of the fire extinguisher is less than 1.0 MPa (refill), it means that the pressure inside is not enough to effectively spray the fire extinguishing agent. At this time, we need to take the fire extinguisher to the fire equipment store or the local fire brigade to refill it.
If the pointer of the fire extinguisher gauge pressure gauge is in the green area, it shows that the pressure of the fire extinguisher is normal, and the fire extinguisher can be used normally.
It shows that the pressure inside the fire extinguisher is too high and exceeds the standard value. If we use a fire extinguisher at this time, although the foam can be sprayed normally, there is a danger of explosion. It is recommended to take it to the fire shop to replace it as soon as possible.
The fire extinguisher should undergo a visual inspection every month, mainly checking the pressure gauge of the fire extinguisher. When the pointer of the pressure gauge is lower than the green line area, it should be charged and repaired immediately; the tank body of the newly purchased ABC dry powder fire extinguisher should be hydrostatically tested every 5 years. After the first inspection, the hydraulic pressure test will be carried out every 2 years thereafter, and the mandatory period for the tank body to be scrapped is 10 years.
